Skeena Diversity Holds its AGM

June 21, 2010: Skeena Diversity Society (SDS) membership was treated to a exciting evening of information, idea aharing, tasty food and great company. Colleen Austin, Society Chair facilitated the meeting which covered the usual business of approving agenda and minutes, presentation of financial report and election of the Board of Directors for 2010-2011. Three new members were elected to make a nine member Board which will lead the Society through its exciting community development projects. Read more.

Saša Loggin, Project Director and Dyani Clawson, Project Coordinator presented an overview of last year's activities. Those grew substantially since January when the Society was a successful recipient of the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities and Workplaces Program (WICWP) Demonstartion Project funding. SDS is working towards making Terrace a more welcoming and inclusive community for all residents - it engages immigrants, helping them naigate the community and all it has to offer. It helps to community to build and strenghten psitive relationships with First Nations people and communities in the region and provide a space for people from diverse backgrounds to come together and work towards prosperous Terrace in a sustainable way.
