Skeena Diversity Society Wants to Hear From You

Terrace, April 25, 2010: Amongst all the mail and newspapers in your mailbox, you may find a brown envelope  from Skeena Diversity Society Community Mapping Survey Packagethis coming week. We urge you not to chuck it but open it. We at Skeena Diversity would like to ask for a few moments of your time to participate in the attached Terrace-wide survey.

In developing programs to make Terrace a more welcoming and inclusive community under the WelcomeBC program, the Society is mapping the community to better understand who we are – our cultural experiences and backgrounds, skills, talents and interests; ideas and dreams. We want to find out how people connect with one another, measure existing strengths and discover barriers.  We will be using the survey to identify gaps and opportunities for a broader meaningful engagement of our citizens and an improved quality of life.

Skeena Diversity Society would like to work with you to shape the future of Terrace – we believe in the strengths and creativity of a diverse and inclusive community.

You have am opportunity to share your concerns as well as your hopes and dreams for Terrace. No identifying information will be shared publicly but the overall findings will be presented to the community, City Council and other decision makers to better inform community planning.

We appreciate your time to participate. If you are interested in a chance to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant, please complete the tear-away portion of the survey and return it with the completed survey before May 28th, 2010.
